Get inspired this Easter weekend

Get inspired this Easter weekend at some of the fantastic gardening events going on all over Ireland to inspire and enthuse you for the start of spring.

Easter egg hunts are high on the holiday list for all chocolate-loving kids - and when they take place in a beautiful garden it's a great excuse for the parents to leave them to it and sneak off to absorb the wonderful planting. Kilruddery in Co. Wicklow offers little ones an Eggsplorer Challenge, while grown-ups get to enjoy a 17th century garden including water features and outdoor 'rooms'. The award-winning 11-acre Brigit's Garden, near Galway, is a great place to enjoy a good Easter Egg hunt, crafts and face-painting. There are Easter chicks at Belvedere House and Gardens in Co. Westmeath; a puppet show at Wells House and Gardens in Co. Wexford; and a forest fairy to guide you through Powerscourt House and Gardens near Dublin.

Easter is a great excuse to see some of Ireland's very best gardens in all their spring finery, and along with the chocolate eggs you'll come away with a notebook packed with ideas and must-have plants. Bring it along to our garden centre in Athlone and we'll help you realise your dreams for your own back yard!
